Leon’s is currently looking for a Full Time Mailroom & Reception Associate to join our team on a one-year temporary contract, with a strong possibility to become permanent. This role is responsible for the efficient operation of mailroom, shipping, and receiving functions while providing daily reception and front-desk coverage. The position supports corporate and franchise locations by ensuring timely processing and distribution of mail, supplies, and shipments, maintaining accurate records and inventory, and delivering professional customer service to visitors, vendors, and associates.

Responsibilities:
Mailroom & Shipping Operations
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and courier deliveries (Purolator and Canada Post).
- Collect outgoing afternoon mail and prepare items for shipment.
- Sort, stamp, and mail correspondence received from corporate and franchise stores.
- Process daily supply requisition forms from corporate and franchise locations.
- Pick, weigh, measure, label, and stage shipments (up to 20 lbs.) at the main entrance for Purolator pickup.
- Handle daily shipping requests for the IT department and coordinate mass shipments for Marketing and Merchandising as required.
- Maintain accurate inventory of mailroom and supply items to ensure stores have required materials available and shipped when requested.
- Track and maintain monthly records of paper products distributed to customers.
- Complete month-end reporting, including:
- Recording store changes for corporate and franchise locations
- Printing and filing mailing machine reports
Reception & Front Desk Coverage
- Provide reception coverage for approximately one hour daily.
- Greeting and welcoming visitors and vendors, ensuring sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed.
- Notify appropriate associates of visitor or vendor arrivals.
- Answer incoming phone calls, retrieve messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate associates.
- Receive packages delivered to reception, log deliveries, and obtain associate sign-off upon pickup.
- Ensure vendors sign for cheques when collected.
Warehouse & Facilities Support
- Receive skids into the warehouse and notify respective departments upon arrival of goods, as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Prepare large recycling bins for scheduled emptying every second Tuesday.
Administrative & Ad Hoc Support
- Support Home Office associates with ad hoc supply, shipping, and administrative requests as needed.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in mailroom operations, shipping/receiving, office administration, or reception.
- Experience working in a multi-location or franchise environment is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with courier services such as Purolator and Canada Post.
- Knowledge of mailroom, shipping, and courier processes.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet daily operational deadlines.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Effective verbal communication and professional customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with inventory tracking and record-keeping practices.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety principles.
- Regular lifting, carrying, and moving of packages weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Work performed in an office, mailroom, and light warehouse environment.
- Use of mailing equipment, carts, and basic warehouse tools.
- Adherence to health and safety guidelines, including safe lifting practices.
- Experience working with suppliers and vendors to manage orders, deliveries, and service-related inquiries.

Compensation:
The hourly pay range for this position is $18-25; skill set and experience will be taken into consideration for total renumeration of role.
